Smart Keypad Board helps us to interface 4×3 and 4×4 membrane button keypads with the systems where there is a shortage of GPIO pins to interface these keypads. This board has ATmega328p micro-controller which takes the input from the Keypad, interprets which key is pressed on the keypad and sends it through UART and I2C protocols.
Smart Keypad Board has a micro-controller which converts the keypad data into serial or I2c data which can be transferred to other controllers using only two data lines. This board has three communication ports namely UART, I2C and SPI. Hence this board can communicate with number of peripheral devices using any of these communication ports. This board also has an ADC port in which two ADC pins can be used to connect analog or digital sensors along with the keypad. Each port has separate ground (G pin) and vcc pins (V pin) through which Smart Keypad Board can be powered up.
